Think Positive
Thinking positively takes the negative factors away. The test might be difficult, but you can do it. Believing in oneself is a giant leap towards success.
Plan It Out
As your teacher announces the test, make sure you know the coverage. From what chapters? Have you taken down notes about it? Is it from the book or plain essay? What are the types of the test? How long? What are the things you need to bring? Calculators, rulers, bond papers, periodic table, etc. Make sure you have it and it's functional. You can't pass a test with a calculator running low on battery.
You don't have to memorize everything from your book or notes. For a specific chapter, know what is it all about. Take only what is important. If you own that book, then you can highlight important points using colored pencils. For math-related subjects, study the examples given and practice solving equations. Study possible items for enumeration, multiple choice questions and identification, and true or false questions.
Night Before the Test
Make sure you have a good night rest. It's the worst reason to flunk just because you dosed off while answering. Find your most convenient time to study. Just have a quick review about the lesson.
Morning Before the Test
Breakfast is very important. The foods you eat energize your brain to think well. Get to school early and do a 10-minute power study to warm up your brain.
The Moment
Don't feel too smart to answer the test right away. Make sure you have everything you need. Extra pens, scratch paper, calculator, exam permit, etc. Know the scoring of the test. If one item is equivalent for how many points. Read instructions! Most students fail by not following instructions. Do erasures or superimposed answers mean incorrect? If it says write T for True and F for false then be it. If you feel doubt about the instructions, then ask the proctor or your teacher. Sometimes the teacher announces some typos in the questionnaire. Know how many pages are there in a set of questionnaire.
The Clock Is Ticking
Manage your time. Scan through the test questionnaire. Answering easy questions saves your time. This gives you more time to answer the tough ones.
Stuck!
If the question is too tricky and you don't have any idea about the answer, read the question twice or thrice and understand it. Try to answer it, choose between possible answers. If you don't know the answer, try to make a wise guess.
Penmanship Matters
Make sure to write legibly. The checker of the questionnaire might have difficulty in deciphering your penmanship.
I'm Done!
Don't submit it yet. Take a look at the clock, if there is still time left, review your answers. Check if you have not skipped a question, or your numbering is right. When you're truly done. Submit it to your teacher or proctor personally.
Congratulations for passing the test!
