It's difficult to confront a person especially if it deals with ones behavior and personality. Wrong use of words may offend your roommate and sometimes may lead to conflict and complex situations.
Just a few people enjoy confronting someone else. They feel nervous, scared and anxious to be yelled at or may sound unreasonable. But sometimes, it's necessary. At first you can give him or her some hints like, "Are you done studying coz I need to use the table right now, I have some projects to do", or maybe just say "Can you keep your things now coz I'll be sweeping the floor and I might throw some of your things in the garbage". You can also asked her to have a daily room cleaner assignment. It's a way of sharing tasks. Use constructive criticism. Still try to be more patient this time but if you can't do it any longer, simply confront him or her. Never try to back-stab or nag your roommate. If you're not good in confronting someone else, you'll end up cleaning someone else's mess. You just have to cope with it.
Always remember some people try to change while others stays the same.
