Essence of Being a Woman

I was ask by our Team Leader to describe the essence of being a woman. Well, it was not really a question, but  statement of how a person understands the true essence of being a woman. This is very subjective. Everyone has different views on this. Let's just imagine asking a straight male, a gay, a lesbian, and a woman about this. Of course, different personalities have differing views. As for me, with the recent changes of our society, the term "motherhood" as they say is the essence of being a woman no longer applies. Love, compassion, and care is humanity; independence, leadership, and as pedestal for strength for her family and friends is women empowerment; femininity, giving birth and life to her children as well as being a good and loving wife is motherhood; prioritizing the welfare of others is altruism, but a combination of these positive qualities that she possesses is the true essence of being a woman. 

I'm a mother now and my child is the greatest gift that God has given me. Being a mother is quite difficult, but as you see how your kid grows, saying his first word, taking his first step, showing his first star in school is very fulfilling. As for all the mommies out there, be thankful to God, for the moment you fill your first baby's heartbeat in your womb, it's the very first step of the longest steps for our journey to motherhood!
